The Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Self-Winding Ref. 4600E/000A-B442 combines the refinement of traditional Geneva watchmaking with a more relaxed, contemporary design inspired by Vacheron Constantin’s historic Ref. 6073 from 1956. Its stainless steel case measures 40mm across and a slim 9.6mm thick, with distinctive lugs that subtly evoke the shape of the Maltese Cross. The silver-toned sector dial uses two contrasting finishes—an opaline center surrounded by a sunburst satin outer section—giving the otherwise understated design considerable depth. Applied 18k gold Arabic numerals and baton indexes are paired with matching gold hands, while blue Super-LumiNova adds modern nighttime legibility. A discreet date aperture sits at 3 o’clock, while sapphire crystals front and back and 30 meters of water resistance complete the elegant everyday package.

Visible through the exhibition caseback is Vacheron Constantin’s automatic Calibre 1326, a 25-jewel movement composed of 142 components and operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. It provides approximately 48 hours of power reserve along with central hours, minutes and seconds, date, and a stop-seconds function for precise setting. One of the movement’s visual highlights is its elevated 22k gold oscillating weight, shaped with inspiration from Vacheron Constantin’s Maltese Cross emblem and surrounded by the refined finishing expected from the historic manufacture. Paired with a dark grey alligator leather strap and stainless steel folding clasp, the 4600E/000A-B442 offers a particularly versatile entry into Vacheron Constantin—combining vintage-inspired sector-dial styling, slim modern proportions, and the craftsmanship of one of Switzerland’s oldest continuously operating watch manufactures.
