Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600T

The Rolex Sea-Dweller Ref. 16600T is the final evolution of the classic Sea-Dweller 16600 line, produced in the mid-2000s before the model’s discontinuation in 2008. It retains the legendary professional-grade dive watch architecture that made the Sea-Dweller famous while incorporating subtle modern updates. The watch features a 40 mm stainless steel Oyster case, a black dial with luminous hour markers, and a black unidirectional aluminum bezel used for timing dives. Unlike the Submariner, the Sea-Dweller does not have a Cyclops magnifier over the date, maintaining a flatter crystal and a more utilitarian aesthetic. The “T” designation commonly refers to the engraved Rolex rehaut (inner bezel) introduced during later production, where “ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX” is etched around the inner ring along with the serial number at 6 o’clock.

Built as a true professional saturation diver, the 16600T includes Rolex’s helium escape valve and is rated to 1,220 m (4,000 ft) of water resistance, significantly deeper than the Submariner’s rating. Inside the watch beats the Rolex Calibre 3135, a COSC-certified automatic movement known for exceptional reliability and approximately 48 hours of power reserve. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal, solid stainless-steel Oyster bracelet, and a diver’s extension clasp designed to fit over a wetsuit.
