The Oris Aquis Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition IV Ref. 01 400 7790 4185 is the fourth chapter in Oris’s long-running commitment to supporting the Great Barrier Reef and ocean conservation. Limited to just 2,000 pieces worldwide, the watch is based on the professional-grade Aquis platform and was created in support of the Resilient Reefs Foundation, an Australian nonprofit working to protect coral reefs from threats including coral bleaching. Its 43.5mm stainless steel case surrounds a striking gradient blue dial that evokes the changing colors and depths of the reef, complemented by a unidirectional diving bezel with a durable tungsten minutes-scale insert. A domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating, screw-down crown, stainless steel bracelet, and substantial 300 meters of water resistance give the watch the serious specifications expected from the Aquis collection. Special caseback engravings further distinguish the Great Barrier Reef IV from the standard production models.

Inside is Oris’s in-house Calibre 400, a high-performance automatic movement operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivering an impressive 120-hour, or five-day, power reserve. The movement was engineered with elevated resistance to magnetism and incorporates twin mainspring barrels to achieve its extended running time, while also offering hacking seconds and an instantaneous date display. Oris recommends a 10-year service interval for Calibre 400 watches and offers an extended 10-year warranty when the watch is registered through MyOris.
