The caseback of this limited-edition collaboration is signed with the Santurce Watch Club logo and slogan — “El Que Sabe, Sabe,” which translates to, “If you know, you know.”
As is often the case with Nivada’s coolest designs, the Autochron Panda is an extremely limited edition. Only 100 pieces were produced, with 60 going to Santurce Watch Club and 40 sold through Nivada’s online shop.
The Nivada Grenchen Autochron Panda x Santurce Co Ref. 77003Q45 is a modern, vintage-inspired chronograph created through a collaboration between Nivada Grenchen and the Santurce Watch Club, blending 1970s motorsport aesthetics with contemporary technology. The watch stands out with its classic “panda” dial configuration—a white dial paired with contrasting black sub-dials—evoking legendary racing chronographs of the era while offering a clean, highly legible layout. The design channels retro racing style with a tachymeter scale, bold hands, and contrasting registers, giving it a look often compared to vintage racing chronographs from the late 1960s and 1970s.
Built in a 38 mm stainless-steel case with a double-domed sapphire crystal, the Autochron Panda balances vintage proportions with modern durability. It uses a TMI VK67 meca-quartz chronograph movement, combining quartz timekeeping accuracy with a mechanical chronograph module that provides crisp push-button action and smooth chronograph operation. The watch also offers 200 m water resistance, making it unusually capable for a racing-style chronograph.

Brand History
Brand History
Nivada Grenchen, established in 1926 in Grenchen, Switzerland, quickly became renowned for its rugged tool watches that pushed the boundaries of horological innovation. The brand solidified its reputation with the introduction of the Antarctic in 1950, the first waterproof automatic watch. This timepiece gained fame when it accompanied members of the U.S. Navy's Operation Deep Freeze I during their South Pole expedition from 1955 to 1956.
In 1961, Nivada Grenchen launched the Chronomaster, a versatile waterproof chronograph designed for aviators, divers, and sports enthusiasts. The company continued its innovative streak with the release of the Depthomatic in 1964, the first diver's watch featuring a depth indicator, followed by the Depthmaster in 1965, capable of withstanding pressures up to 1,000 meters.
After a period of dormancy, Nivada Grenchen experienced a rebirth in 2018, reintroducing two of its most iconic models—the Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver and the Antarctic—at the forefront of its revival. The relaunch paved the way for the brand’s enduring appeal among modern watch enthusiasts while honoring its storied heritage.
