The CWC Destro Quartz Diver Mk.2 SBS No Date is a left-handed, military-spec tool watch built with the same no-nonsense philosophy that defines Cabot Watch Company’s long-standing service pieces. Its “destro” crown placement at 9 o’clock makes it ideal for left-wrist wearers—or for right-wrist wearers who want a crown that stays out of the way during field use. The matte black dial is clean, tactical, and distraction-free, with large luminous markers and a no-date layout that enhances legibility under all conditions. Paired with the fully bead-blasted case and unidirectional black bezel, the watch has a stealth, mission-ready aesthetic designed for the Special Boat Service lineage it draws from.
Powered by a robust Swiss quartz movement, the Mk.2 SBS delivers exceptional reliability and accuracy in environments where failure isn’t an option. Its 300-meter water resistance, screw-down crown, and thick sapphire crystal give it true professional-grade durability, while the LHD configuration adds both comfort and collector appeal. On a NATO strap, it wears lightweight, secure, and undeniably purposeful—exactly what you’d expect from a watch built for real military use. For anyone seeking a tough, left-handed diver with authentic British service heritage, the CWC Destro Quartz Diver Mk.2 stands out as one of the most functional and quietly iconic options available.

Brand History
Brand History
Founded in 1972 by Ray Mellor, a former managing director at Hamilton UK, Cabot Watch Company (CWC) was created with a single mission: supply durable, no-nonsense timepieces to the British military. At the time, the Ministry of Defence needed reliable watches built to strict standards, and CWC stepped in with rugged mechanical pieces made for real-world abuse — not boutique display cases. Their early models followed the classic military spec: fixed bars, simple dials, and movements chosen for reliability over romance.
Through the late ’70s and ’80s, CWC became the go-to supplier for British forces, eventually replacing brands like Hamilton for general service watches. They gained a particularly devoted following with their G10 quartz, introduced in 1980, which became one of the most widely issued British military watches ever. At the same time, CWC produced famously tough divers — including the RN Diver Automatic and later the quartz Royal Navy Diver, both built to survive punishing conditions at sea. These weren’t designed for luxury buyers; they were designed to keep soldiers alive.
By the 2000s, CWC’s cult status had grown far beyond military circles. Collectors began hunting down issued pieces, discovering variations across years, dial markings, and movement types. The brand leaned into this heritage, reissuing classics and maintaining its utilitarian ethos while much of the watch world sprinted toward luxury marketing. Today, CWC remains one of the most authentic “military watch” brands out there — not because they say so, but because their watches actually did the job in the field.
