Cartier Roadster 2510

The Cartier Roadster Ref. 2510 is one of the most distinctive designs from Cartier’s early-2000s era, blending the Maison’s traditional elegance with styling inspired by classic sports cars. Introduced as part of the original Roadster collection in 2001, the watch features a sculpted stainless steel tonneau-shaped case measuring approximately 37mm wide and 44mm lug-to-lug, giving it considerably more wrist presence than its dimensions suggest. The oversized crown and magnified date display at 3 o’clock reinforce the automotive theme, while the flowing case lines transition directly into Cartier’s integrated stainless steel bracelet with concealed folding clasp. Depending on the configuration, the 2510 was offered with several dial treatments, including black and silver variations, while retaining the bold numerals and distinctive Roadster styling that separated it from more traditional Cartier designs.

Inside is the automatic Cartier Caliber 3110, a 21-jewel movement based on the proven ETA 2892-A2 architecture. The movement provides central hours, minutes and seconds along with the date complication and offers the reliability and serviceability that helped make the original Roadster a practical everyday luxury watch. The Roadster was produced for a relatively short chapter in Cartier’s modern history before eventually disappearing from the collection, and the first-generation 2510 has since developed a strong neo-vintage following. Its unmistakable tonneau case, automotive-inspired details, automatic movement and uniquely early-2000s Cartier character make the 2510 an increasingly interesting alternative to the more familiar Santos and Tank collections.
