Waltham A-11 World War II Military
Offered is this great looking Waltham A-11 World War II hacking Military watch that winds, sets, and runs great. It keeps excellent time. My understanding is that the AF 42 on the back stood for the year of manufacture, 1942. The hacking feature stops the seconds hand when the crown is in the setting position and allowed watches to be set in unison with other watches right to the second, which was often important in military operations. The A-11 designation specified that the watch was to have a minimum of 15 Jewels, center seconds hand with hacking feature and black dials with white numeric indices.
