INQUIRE TO PURCHASE

This is the first SUB automatic in the brand’s history to be designed for left-handers, with the crown on the left side of the case. The SUB 300T Aristera features a bezel with an aluminum insert, paying homage to a design introduced by the Aubry Frères in the 1980s. The choice of metal lends a subtle, elegant matte silver hue. The case itself is carved from a solid block of 316L stainless steel, known for its exceptional corrosion resistance.

Under the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, all dive-related indications are coated with Super-LumiNova® luminescent material, ensuring excellent readability under low-light conditions and during limited visibility dives.

The power source is a Swiss automatic movement with exclusive DOXA decorations, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and ensuring a comfortable power reserve of about 38 hours. The entire watch is water-resistant to 1,200 meters (approximately 4000 feet), allowing for safe deep-sea exploration.

The SUB 300T Professional Aristera is available exclusively with the DOXA SUB’s iconic orange dial, further enhancing its pedigree. This model comes with both the legendary ‘beads of rice’ stainless steel bracelet to match the case, and a lighter-weight, more casual NATO-style strap. The bracelet and the strap both feature respectively a stainless steel folding clasp and a pin buckle.

On the caseback, an engraving of a sailing vessel, its sails full – in reverse relief as a nod to left-handed users – along with the inscription ‘Limited Edition 000/300.’ Beyond its aesthetic appeal and certain collector status, this 42.50 mm diameter watch, worn on land or at sea, maintains its reputation as a timepiece for travelers, adventurers, and globetrotters – left or right-handed, but always sure-handed.

History of DOXA Watches

DOXA, founded in 1889 by Georges Ducommun in Le Locle, Switzerland, has a rich history of watchmaking innovation. Initially gaining recognition for its pocket watches and dashboard clocks, DOXA's defining moment came in 1967 with the introduction of the SUB 300 dive watch. This groundbreaking timepiece, featuring an iconic orange dial, unique no-decompression bezel, and purpose-built design for recreational divers, quickly became a benchmark in the industry. Notably, in collaboration with Rolex and the introduction of the Sea-Dweller, DOXA co-developed the now-common helium escape valve concept, adding another feather in its cap as a true diver’s tool in its day. DOXA's reputation was further enhanced by its association with Jacques-Yves Cousteau and its frequent appearance in Clive Cussler's adventure novels.

Despite facing challenges during the quartz crisis, DOXA experienced a resurgence after its acquisition by the Jenny family in 1997. Today, the brand continues to honor its diving heritage while embracing modern watchmaking techniques. DOXA's journey from a small Swiss workshop to a globally recognized dive watch manufacturer demonstrates its enduring commitment to innovation, quality, and functionality. The brand's iconic designs, particularly the SUB series, remain popular among diving enthusiasts and watch collectors alike, cementing DOXA's place in horological history.
