In 2021, more than 50 years after the legend was born, the SUB 300 is now available for the first time in an unlimited carbon edition.

The SUB 300 in carbon remains true to its origins while cultivating an edgier, more technical, but also more urban look and feel. It takes the legend into the future, with a high-performance, putting an advanced lightweight material at the service of function. With a diameter of 42.50 mm, the carbon SUB 300 features a pressure-resistant titanium casing to protect the movement and a screw-down crown. It is rated to 300 meters, equivalent to approximately 980 feet. Precision, robustness, reliability – the SUB 300’s automatic three-hand movement holds the prestigious COSC Certified Chronometer certification guaranteeing all three. It also provides a 38-hour power reserve. The date window is positioned at 3 o'clock. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment is domed: a tribute to its heritage and the curved plexiglass of the very first SUB 300. All dive-related markings have a Super-LumiNova® luminescent coating to ensure optimum legibility even in low-visibility conditions.

The SUB 300 in carbon is available in 8 colors with the choice of a rubber strap in black or in the same color as the dial. Featuring distinctive DOXA cues on both sides, the strap is fitted with a black PVD-treated folding clasp decorated with the exclusive DOXA fish symbol. It also has an adjustable diving extension to accommodate the thickness of a wetsuit.

History of DOXA Watches

DOXA, founded in 1889 by Georges Ducommun in Le Locle, Switzerland, has a rich history of watchmaking innovation. Initially gaining recognition for its pocket watches and dashboard clocks, DOXA's defining moment came in 1967 with the introduction of the SUB 300 dive watch. This groundbreaking timepiece, featuring an iconic orange dial, unique no-decompression bezel, and purpose-built design for recreational divers, quickly became a benchmark in the industry. Notably, in collaboration with Rolex and the introduction of the Sea-Dweller, DOXA co-developed the now-common helium escape valve concept, adding another feather in its cap as a true diver’s tool in its day. DOXA's reputation was further enhanced by its association with Jacques-Yves Cousteau and its frequent appearance in Clive Cussler's adventure novels.

Despite facing challenges during the quartz crisis, DOXA experienced a resurgence after its acquisition by the Jenny family in 1997. Today, the brand continues to honor its diving heritage while embracing modern watchmaking techniques. DOXA's journey from a small Swiss workshop to a globally recognized dive watch manufacturer demonstrates its enduring commitment to innovation, quality, and functionality. The brand's iconic designs, particularly the SUB series, remain popular among diving enthusiasts and watch collectors alike, cementing DOXA's place in horological history.
