1960's Breitling Navitimer 806 Gold AOPA Gilt Dial Reverse Panda
Featuring all-original dial printing and no signs of water damage or heavy discoloration, this particular model also features the desirable AOPA logo on the dial, signifying that it was sold through the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association. It also features the early "beaded" thin bezel design, later replaced by a taller, less ornate version. It is clad in a fully steel case - whereas a large number from the same era were delivered in gold plate.
The Breitling Navitimer AOPA 806 Chosen as the official timepiece of AOPA, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Something which Breitling has traded on ever since.
This highly sought-after timepiece is powered by a high-grade Venus 178 Manual Winding chronograph movement. In excellent condition inside an out, with particularly incredible original lume, crisp dial, and a sharp case, this is easily the nicest example we have ever encountered.
A very Rare example of a vintage Navitimer with Gold Applied AOPA logo.
This transitional model was only produced for circa one year in 1963 and is the first time we see the now iconic Reverse Panda dial on an 806 Navitimer whilst still retaining the raised Gold wings logo and beaded bezel from the earlier all Black models.
